Maureen Kelley

6th Grade Teacher

Hello, my name is Maureen Kelley, and I am thrilled to be teaching 6th grade at America’s Finest Charter School! I was born and raised in El Centro, CA, where my mother was an elementary school teacher for 34 years. Growing up, I always loved assisting her in her classroom by prepping materials and helping her students exceed learning goals. Her passion for helping students persevere, learn new things, and feel proud of themselves, inspired me to pursue a teaching career of my own.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of California Santa Barbara. I then worked as a substitute teacher for two years in Goleta, CA and El Centro, CA before completing Cal State Fullerton’s credential program and earning my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential this past May. I am currently working toward my goal of getting a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology. Making sure my students feel safe and inspired to take risks and gain knowledge are my top priorities. Besides teaching, my passions include working out, swimming in the ocean, making seashell jewelry, and singing.
