5th Grade Teacher

First and foremost, I am the mother of two incredible young adults. My son lives in Northern California and founded his own business after studying computer science. My daughter is a vocalist and over the last 2 years has written and recorded songs with a release date coming soon. My children are and always will be my very best accomplishment!

I am entering my 16th year as an educator. During that time, I have taught all grade levels (K-8) in one capacity or another, but the bulk of my teaching has been as a classroom teacher for 5th grade.  In 2017, I was nominated as the Teacher of the Year for the Charter School District, which was a remarkable honor. I have also acted as a mentor for teachers clearing their credentials and for Teach for America educators. Recently, I filled a role as the Instructional Coach at AFCS, where I had the opportunity to support all teachers. Supporting both children and adults with educational and professional growth is a source joy for me. In order to continually advance, I completed a M.Ed. and an Administrative Credential in 2020.

For fun, I love to bicycle most weekends with a friend. In the summer, we ride almost 300 miles per month! My other passion is painting. I recently had 3 of my mixed media paintings accepted into a local juried gallery show. I hope for more opportunities to share my art in the future!
