Jan Perry is the founder of America's Finest Charter School which is a TK-12 free public charter school and was founded in 2010. She has a Master's Degree in Education, M. Ed., and a California Administrative Credential. Jan graduated from the Educational Leadership Development Academy (ELDA) in 2000 at the University of San Diego (USD). She has been a Peer Coach/ Staff Developer, Principal for Charter Schools, and with the San Diego Unified School District. She is a member of the Charter Schools Development Center (CSDC), Leadership Academy. She is also a member of the California Charter Schools Association and the International Reading Association.
All of her educational experience has been with socio-economically disadvantaged students in southeast San Diego. Jan Perry's experience in elementary school teaching, coaching and managing teaching staff, and her long-standing connection to the targeted southeast community will bring the experience and expertise needed to manage and lead the staff at A.F.C.S. The school is known for its Dual Pathways, Engineering, and International Studies. Project Lead the Way and Samsung Emerging Schools are two of the award-winning programs at AFCS. Our after-school program allows inner-city students to enjoy hobbies and sports such as skateboarding, golf, piano, Ballet Folklorico, Instrumental Music, sports, art, and many other opportunities.
