This is my 3rd year at AFCS. Last year, I taught a 6th/7th grade combination class and I am excited about teaching 6th. I enjoy the small class sizes, the family-feel, and the enthusiasm the students have about learning. I hope to tap into that enthusiasm to help them achieve their full potential. Previously, I worked as a Human Resources Manager and caught the teaching bug when I became active as a volunteer at my children’s schools. While there, I implemented a volunteer reading tutoring program and co-taught a GATE enrichment program.
I went back to school while working and earned my Master’s in Education along with my multiple subject and English credentials. I worked with South Bay Union/ Imperial Beach for 2 years where I taught ELA/ELD for grades 1-3 and Science labs for grades 1-6 on a rotational basis. I also worked with San Diego Unified teaching 6th and 7th grade English/Language Arts. I have 2 teenage sons and a Golden Retriever and enjoy swimming, the beach, hiking, biking, volleyball, and theater. I am often on the sidelines at my son’s high school basketball games.
